Jana Ciglerová studied journalism in Prague and international journalism in London.
In the UK, she worked for The Observer and also published with the Evening Standard. She began her journalistic career as a media correspondent for the biggest Czech daily Mlada fronta Dnes while still a student, then moved on to another Czech daily, Lidove noviny, where she worked as a UK correspondent from London. Upon her return to the Czech Republic from London, Jana became the editor in chief of the Czech version of Elle magazine and later launched a women’s weekly supplement at the biggest national newspaper MF Dnes and worked there as feature writer. She lived in Miami and worked as a special US correspondent for Denik N, where she works now.
She is also very active in television where she produces a weekly documentary program and launched a women’s talk show. In 2009, she has received a prize for outstanding contribution to promoting women’s issues in the mainstream media.
