Andrey Shary
Andrey V. Shary (1965) is a Russian-born editor, media manager and non-fiction author, who has practiced journalism since 1987. He has collaborated with RFE/RL since 1992, and in the mid-1990s he served as a freelance field reporter for Russian-language media from the former Yugoslavia, based in Croatia. Since 1996, he has been anchorman and editor at RFE/RL’s Russian Service headquarters in Prague. He has actively covered conflicts in Bosnia and Croatia (1993-1995), Kosovo (1997-1999), and Macedonia (2001). He’s the author of a dozen non-fiction books, including: “Ex-Yu: After The Rain Falls” (2002), “The Tribunal: Chronicles of the Unfinished War” (2003), and “Prayer For Serbia: The Secret Of Zoran Dindic’s Death” (2004), all published in Russian and devoted to the modern history of the former Yugoslavia.
